Section 4

スモール(small)さん asked me how to write hitotsu~tô in hiragana.

(This is irregular. If you follow the rule, it is supposed to be とう.)

If you want to use hiragana tomorrow, go ahead! If you are not sure, you can add Roma-ji right next to hirgana so that you won't lose any points. ;)

On Examinations and Short-Presentations

Section 3

Today we talked about exams and short presentations. Please write your opinions about them before you come to class next Monday, February 5.

A) しけん (Examinations)
1. What is your definition of “examination”? What is “examination” for you? What is “examination” supposed to be? Why does “examination” exist? What is "examination" for?

2. What are the positives and the negatives to have more examinations in our Japanese class? State both and write your opinion.

(Short-Presentation)
Do you think it is a good idea to have a short presentation on something Japanese in class (either in Japanese or English)? Why?

I would like to use this blog to share your happiness, surprise, excitement, frustration, and questions about Japanese language learning. Here Japanese language learning is not limited to what you do for the course but also includes what you do and experience outside the class. I will make links to classmates' blogs, so you can see what other students think and feel about Japanese language learning and you can even comment on their postings.

I am also very curious about how you learn Japanese, and what you feel and think about (Japanese) language learning as well as how you transform yourself through Japanese language learning, so please feel free to write anything you want.
